"A candle can light a thousand others."

— AFRICAN PROVERB

Founded by Brazilian-Latina filmmaker Juliana Curi, ANINGA is a multi-platform impact and creative studio dedicated to shaping and promoting innovative cinematic narratives and fostering the occupation of professional spaces by underrepresented talents. This nonprofit organization carries out its initiatives through three working axes: the communication and advocacy axis ANINGA COM, the educational and professional development axis ANINGA LAB, committed to inclusion and diversity, and the content creator ANINGA Stories.

About

Mission

ANINGA is a multi-platform impact and creative studio whose mission is to promote and disseminate a vision and practice of non-extractive filmmaking by including diversity in the three pillars of the industry's ecosystem: in education, in collaboration and collectivity among filmmakers, nurturing the space for underrepresented unique voices, and in film narratives.

Vision

Through ANINGA, we seek to show the industry that these stories and films, made through a crossing of voices and perspectives, carry a sophisticated artistic value that has long been neglected or rendered invisible. They can and should occupy the prestigious spaces given to 'mainstream' narratives.

How We Work

01 / ANINGA Com

This pillar aims to spread non-extractive filmmaking visions and practices through the promotion of and participation in debates, seminars, podcasts, interviews, with and without film screenings, at film festivals, universities, art galleries, cultural centers, workshops, and artistic residencies.

02 / ANINGA LAB

Creative hub dedicated to the intersection of powerful contemporary voices with captivating artists and filmmakers to create and craft narrative innovation. The LAB is the place-space to germinate new ideas made by new people. The main focus is the mentoring program for young professionals coming from intersectional diversity, which promotes the crossing of powerful contemporary voices not just for their professional qualification but also to reflect, create, and launch narratives that include goals of social transformation.

03 / ANINGA Stories

Here, we create, develop, and craft audiovisual projects: films, content, campaigns, contemporary art, and visionary concepts with the ability to promote narrative changes through the lens of impact, with sophisticated craft and creative excellence. The team is assembled from this intersectional diversity and is composed of powerful voices from the communication and filmmaking industry.
